Good news indeed. I've been waiting for these to become available again.

As I recall the main reason it was picked to represent X-Marks is:

The Dandelion is a COMPOSITE FLOWER, meaning that it is made of hundreds of individual flowers joined a common base.
Most people think that is a flower with yellow petals, when in fact each one of those yellow so called petals is actually a complete individual flower joined at a common base surrounded by the green petals.

If you look at each yellow part with a hand lens you can see the Stamen and pistil inside of them.

So in reality the Dandelion is like X-Marks with hundreds of individuals joined at a common base.

    Wear you Dandelion proudly

X Marks is not a clan but many of us wear bonnets. We also need a way for us to recognize each other at Highland Games and other events.

As Dandelions are everywhere, hard to eradicate and easily recognizable we chose it as our forum plant.

If you are going to your local Games and don't yet have one of our Cap Badges for your bonnet it is a good bet that you can find a dandelion. You can use the yellow flower or the mature plant that has the seeds. You can use just the leaves.

Dandelions begin to wilt about 11.2 seconds after being picked so perhaps you would like a silk one.
