I've been to the one in Dallas, while up there at a Sci-Fi con a few years back.
There were folks there in everything from t-shirts to Renfaire garb, so my kilt and polo shirt went pretty much with out notice. I didn't have an issue, but as some have mentioned it can be messy, so I probably wouldn't wear my nice wool kilt there. It was not cheap, but a good show and fun time.

Thanks for advice, all. I hadn't calculated on the "Messy" aspect of it ! Gotta think about that.

I went with my lovely and family for our 25th wedding anniversary. I wore my kilt, Prince Charlie Jacket, etc. My wife wore her favorite renfest gown and we had a blast. Even paid for being knighted. A good time was had by all. Go and enjoy yourself.

My Wife and I have gone many times to Medieval Times in both Florida and California. I have not had any problem with the "messy" part of it... yes you eat with your hands... Dress up... go... have fun! that's what you are paying for.

Actually, being kilted would be an advantage. You could use your sgian dubh for eating (which I believe was one of their functions).

I attended the Myrtle Beach location in mine a few years back on our Honeymoon. Just coupled with a nice textured t-shirt and got lots of compliments from the other folks there. (A few thought I was part of the show.) The fellow who calls everyone into the arena by section made a comment over the mic, something about 'we refuse no one...even Scots.' It was all in good fun.

I have been to the one in New Jersey twice. Both times in costumes, neither time anything even close to period. The actors had a great time interacting with the group of us, especially the Duke. The Knight for our section rode up and saluted us. It seems like they were interested in anyone who was interested in them and their show.

I wore the "top part" of my wench getup to the dinner show at the Excaliber in Las Vegas.
Sat at the "front row" nearest the arena and it seemed all the knights, wizards and royality went out of their way to pass with a wave and a nod saying "My lady"
I figured it was because I was dressed for the occasion.....until I realized that Loni Anderson was sitting behind me.
