I wish I could trade weather with you Jock, It's been in the 80sF (20-30sC) here lately, with some thunderstorms forecast for today.

Who would be a weather forecaster for Scotland?
I live 55 miles south east of Edinburgh. Our local forecast this morning was for dry sunny weather till about 4pm then showers. So I hung out some laundry. The first of the showers arrived around 11am and then it has rained non-stop and heavily from around 2pm onwards, still raining and its now 5:30pm!!!

Thank you all for your responses! They flew out last evening to London for the weekend then on to Edinburgh. They did pack warm and waterproof clothing as well as some for inside the convention centre ( i.e. heels, dresses etc.).

Those in Edinburgh be warned the city may not be safe from the roving gangs of oncology nurses! For your own protection if you should encounter any of these roving oncology nurses they can often be tamed with a pint or three! if your kilted then run, run as far and as fast as your wee legs can take you! LOL!

Ah - it was hanging out the laundry that did it, the weather tends to take that as a challenge.

Now in the South of England the cactus is still flowering well and the sun is bleaching my laundry so I have to either dry it at the front of the house (North facing) or turn it round half way through to even up the fading.

In the kitchen all the globes in the thermometer tubes are huddled on the bottom, and the fan is on all the time next to the computer.

Our weather has gone all Continental and Scotland seems to be getting all the rain. Something must have happened to the jet stream.
