    Idi Amin

A 2006 film, "The Last King of Scotland", was about Idi Amin of Uganda. Apparently, he loved all things Scottish and sometimes wore the kilt.

Thanks for the correction. I went back to check my facts and les sapeurs are apparently in the Republic of the Congo, not the Democratic Republic of the Congo (formerly Zaire).

    I shall update the OP.

    I'm lovin' it.

FWIW, I think they look pretty grand. The contrast of the bright colours and dark skin is quite striking to my eyes. I'm particularly fond of the more traditional kilt and hose combination. I must agree with those applauding these gentlemen for their proliferation of the kilt. I can only hope for the day I will see a street scene like that over here in the USofA.

I have no idea but apparently there may an untapped market out there

Kiltmakers must be drooling at the prospect of a new market! Very cool. Makes the point again of how common sense kilts for men are.

All scenes like this start with a group of people talking about it. Here we are. Now we just need to make sure we look as good in out kilts as these guys do. And people will take notice.

Don't get too excited about a new markets! I think the average weekly income in the Congo is about $1.50 .

Yeah, but no black man is going to look cooler in a kilt than Samuel L. Jackson did. Because, well come on! It's Samuel L. Jackson!

All they need to do is hike their kilts up to the proper height. Otherwise I think they look pretty dapper.
