A traditional procession was organized to bring in our meal. Pipes and Quaich !

The Quaich was introduced to our friends. All felt honoured and privileged to have it in their midst.

    The experts took over...

    Bon appétit !

How excellent Robert, a most fitting start to the Quaich's adventures in France. Now where can I get some of that suckling pig.

And here's me going on about sausages in the rain. Now that's what I call a BBQ.

    Nice one Robert! Cheers.

    Quaich visits

The X Marks the Scot Quaich goes to some wonderfully varied places, the latest pics from France are so colourful and the food!!! Yum. Its log and the photos and tales on X Marks the Scot let us follow its fantastic travels. Oh if I could only be that Quaich!
Here in Melbourne, people keep asking me why it went so far over to France when many people must live in the area between. It is only because they didn't put their hand up when the opportunity was offered! I am sure many people will come to regret not offering to host it for a few days as they read the posts and what it has enabled then realise it has already passed them by as it goes west.
I will watch closely and perhaps shadow it as I tour Scotland, Ireland, England, France and Belgium over the next months. Of course I am taking a kilt with me because they, like the Quaich, do open up doors for you. Maybe we can even get to see the Quaich again!
Put your hand up to host the Quaich before it is too late, it is great fun.

Robert, my wife and I are curious as to what this dish is? It appears to us to be tomato, zuchini and squash with possibly some thyme and I assume olive oil. Whatever it is it certainly looks good, as does the roasted pig!

Robert just curious as to what the brass item hanging to your left of the sporran is. Is it a type of flask? Do you have any photos showing more details of this item?
