It was too bad that you did not have more time.

Jackson and I got all dressed up just for your visit. We had our Goth kilts, Croc's with White Hose, wife beater t-shirts, and pith helmets. Just so you would feel at home.

Nice pics! Looks like a fine vacation. My wife and I try to take an annual trip to Charleston, usually during the winter months coinciding with our anniversary, just as a well needed get-away.

I believe I do see not one, but TWO pairs of the House of Cheviot chessboard hose being worn. Good choice, my friend! :-)

Thank you all for the kind comments gents, they are much appreciated! It was indeed a very quick trip, almost too quick, but well needed nonetheless.

    Slainte!

Hahaha, quite right John! Aye, I became a wee bit frustrated by their (my wife and mother-in-law) insane hunger to shop, and especially by being outnumbered by opposite sex, yet I quickly calmed down, relaxed, "went with the flow," and was fine after a few pints at a lovely Scottish pub in downtown Victoria!

Hahaha!!! Aww, Steve, I wish we all could have met up, and that is the biggest regret I have of the trip! My wife and I have pleasantly called our recent trip to Seattle and BC, a "recon" trip for our next visit up there - when it shall be just her and I! Having a "third wheel" can be tricky at times, despite the fact we do obviously love and adore Beverly (my wife's mum and my mother-in-law). I would have loved to see you two dressed up! Pith helmets, aw mate, you are killing me!!!

Thanks for your understanding Steve...we will see you next time, and have that proper dram!

    Yours aye,

BTW Great looking hose and thanks for the inspiration to get a head on sporran (Muskrat) Had mine delivered from L & M yesterday.
Wonderful! You'll love your new sporran - L&M make superb sporrans. Thank you for your kind comments. As Matt noticed and mentioned, they are indeed House of Cheviot, Chessboard style hose. I ordered them from Chris (Redshanks) at Dunadd Trading Company, along with my new diced Balmoral in Lovat Green, which can also be seen in some of the BC photos above. Chris is wonderful to do business with, and I highly recommend him...thanks again Chris!

    Cheers,

Oooops! That'll be Kyle never wearing that tie again being a former Marine and staunch MacPherson Sorry mate!

On the bright side Longhunter ... you may be getting a freebie in the post anytime soon.
No way is it a U.S. Army necktie...not with me being a former active-duty Marine as John mentioned! Hahaha! Just kidding with you longhunter! Actually, I do not remember which specific necktie it is in terms of a paricular name. I do know it was purchased new from Ben Silver out of Charleston, South Carolina, as that is where all of my silk neckties come from, except for my sitting pheasant neckties that come from Barbour.

    Ah Ha...found it...

It's a 3d Battalion, Gordon Highlanders Regimental Tie. Unfortunately, at $105-115, it's a bit rich for my blood. I've no doubt that Ben Silver makes top quality ties...but I don't value that quality to the tune of $70-80 over what I would normally pay for another silk tie. Just one working man's opinion...

Hear, hear to the lovely ladies but thank God for the downtown pubs where the gentlemen can go while the ladies shop!
