    This thread is interesting because My Father's name was John, my name is Iain and my baby boy is named Sean.......I guess we like this name and variants in our family :-)

    Well, reason I ask is because my middle name is Ian and my brother's name is Sean...we're more alike than we think.

    Interesting. My dad's name was John, my real name is Ian, my screen name is Iaian and my son's name is Evan ...

    Just remember... English wasn't the first language in the world. While a name might have an English equivalent- it doesn't mean that the English is the original version of that particular name. Simple as that
