I just picked up a jacket and vest used on ebay. The guy had worn it once for his wedding.

It's indeed quite a stunning jacket, and I'm a size 38 too.
Sadly, at the starting bid it is rather dear for my student budget.
Apart from that it fits pretty much spot on, albeit with the sleeves maybe an inch too long.
I'd probably go for that price were there a matching waistcoat included. Finding the waistcoat elsewhere would be virtually impossible.
I don't know about the grown men bit, but at 23, I don't expect too shoot past a size 38 for a good many years.
For some reason, the size issue mentioned on this thread hasn't really occurred with me. Not at brick-and-mortar retail, at least. If anything, that occurs on eBay and to a lesser extent, at op shops over here.
Maybe it's because I live in Australia and people don't tend to be generously proportioned.
