Re: What did you wear for Halloween!
Nothing.
Well, not really nothing--I am several years past being of an age where that would be anything but disgusting--just no costume. I had on khakis and a sweater. Then, we turned out the lights and went out sinces there are few children in our neighborhood.
My grandchildren were all adorable, though. One American Girl of some stripe, one Iron Man, one teddy bear, and a cow! The cow is only a month old, so he was not really into it, but the teddy bear was adorable.

Re: What did you wear for Halloween!
Just went as myself to a Hallowe'en party. Dressed neither exactly smart or entirely casual either, in my best sports jacket with black jeans and a black shirt with a collar. I was going to wear a costume, which did call for a kilt, but my wife vetoed several parts of it, including the kilt, so I gave up the whole idea.
The funny thing is, though, one guy at the party wore a long haired wig and an indian headband as his costume. I didn't wear a headband, but my hair is about three feet long and very much real. You could say that he was dressed as me! I don't need to wear anything special to go as an ageing hippie. I suppose I should be flattered.
The party was dominated by a drunken, rowdy, crowd, most of whom were police officers. After they got totally smashed they were passing 'round a taser and daring eachother to tase themselves, which several of them actually did. They all have a distorted opinion of me as a very shy and retiring sort, but really it's just that I prefer to stay well out of the way of such loony behaviour.
It makes a strange contrast to a party I once attended many years ago, where most of the guys there were in the Hell's Angels, and I got stuck in a corner with a bore who wanted to drone on about his collection of knives and machetes in excruciating mind-numbing detail.
It is perhaps obvious to say it, but the Hell's Angels were much quieter and better behaved than the police. I don't really expect everyone to believe that, but I am speaking from actual experience.

Among the Scots the Kilt is the finest national dress in the world, not a costume, but the highest dress one can wear. The Scottish People died for the right to wear tartan and the kilt, it is should be respected.
