That's pretty much the way it is around here in my part of Texas. I say "you" for singular and "y'all" for plural.
Father Bill's slight dig notwithstanding, "y'all" is perfectly good English. It's just a contraction for "you all". If you would say something like "How are you all doing today?" to a group of people, I see no rule against using a contraction in the form of "How are y'all doing today?". If "y'all" is not proper English, then neither is "I'd" or "I'll" or "you'll", etc.

I voted "y'all", when addressing a group of people directly.
When addressing a large group of people a little more indirectly, it's "all of you'ns".

Perfect! Exactly what my English Professor colleague said. Moreover, if one has studied other languages (or tries to learn English as a second or third or...) or even pays close attention to logic, it becomes very clear very fast how ambiguous (and potentially misleading) the "standard" English ambiguity of the second person plural pronoun can be. Excellently said Tobus!

Re: What is your plural for "you"?
Before I moved to Tennessee, I used to say "you". However, after living in Tennessee a short while, I adopted y'all for small groups and all y'all for large ones. After moving back to Iowa, I'm not sure y'all will totally leave my vocabulary. Likewise with yonder and reckon. I'm also more likely to address ladies and gentlemen as "Ma'am" and "Sir". My wife slaps me upside the head for saying, "Yes'm" to her, though.

Guilty, as charged! I usually say "you" for the plural, but when that fails to work and I don't get a proper response from the group in question, I have to resort to "yunz." Occasionally I will throw in "all y'all" (which I picked up when I was stationed in Florida) or "you'uns."
Anyone want to deal with "gumbands"? (Sorry, life-long inhabitant of the Pittsburgh area. At least we add the appropriate Scottish "h" to 'burgh!)

I must admit that there are certain regional phrases I use too, like "yonder" and "reckon" and "feller" and "ain't". Such as: "I reckon that feller came from up yonder in yankee-land. Sure 'nough he ain't from around here." I can turn it off if I want to speak properly, but I reckon my natural speaking style is to speak in the dialect in which I was raised.

Re: What is your plural for "you"?
I grew up in Michigan where it was you guys (which always struck me as odd if the guys in question were girls). I have lived in Texas for over 30 years now, where every one knows it is y'all. All y'all is reserved for large groups.

Re: What is your plural for "you"?
1.5 feet firmly planted in the "you" crowd. I'll use "you folks" if I feel the need to encompass a mixed group, reserving "guys" for a group of men and "ladies" for a group of women.
The use of "you guys" for a mixed group is rife in SoCal and it chaps me every time. One of my sisters pushes back at waitstaff who use it to address a group of women, but I mostly let it slide and just growl inside ![Evil or Very Mad](http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_evil.gif)

I wish the poll had used check boxes instead of radio buttons, as I use more than one of those options.
I more or less follow in the line of Tobus and TheBrus, I often use "y'all" for smaller groups and "all y'all" for larger groups. Also like Tobus, Ah kin turn on mah reejunal dahlekt if'n I wants ter, but I usually speak pretty good English when I want to be clearly understood.
