Quite right! The Ulster tartan is very fitting:

    Re: Christmas Kilt

I daresay it's too late for a new kilt for this Christmas. But as for a fitting tartan, here is one that really caught my eye at the latest Highland Games. Third from the right is our very own Ragged Tiger, wearing a box-pleat kilt by Matt Newsome in the Bates tartan. The photo doesn't do it justice. The colours really popped.

    This is the tartan:

So weird, the photobucket pic isn't coming up. Here's the link

    Re: Christmas Kilt

I have a Cummings which is pretty much all red and green with a minimal, white stripe.

From a distance, she's red and green to the eye. A perfect Christmas tartan IMO

    Re: Christmas Kilt

I hate to do this to you but I am seriously proud to have my own personal tartan (The Hamish Bicknell tartan) which is just perfect for Christmas - and throughout the year!

It was graciously designed for me by Rocky at 'USA Kilts' and the work-of-art kilt was skillfully sewn by Barb Tewksbury.

    Brazenly yours,
    Ham.

    Re: Christmas Kilt

Wow, I'm sure none among us are surprised, but I think Hamish has found the perfect tartan choice and already has the kilt. Koodos to Rocky on the design.

    Re: Christmas Kilt

Go with the Royal Stuart! You'll find a great many ornaments and wrapping paper already in that tartan, and I've always thought it looked like Christmas. Besides, it's easy to find. Stillwater has it in an 8 yard traditional for only $80, and they send it to you almost before you order it. I received both of my Stillwater kilts within 4 days.
Scotland is only 1/5 the size of Montana, but Scotland has over 3,000 castles and Montana has none.
