    Re: My First Kilt

I feel A sport kilt is a great way to start off. If and when you can get a "real" one I am afraid it will be relegated to black tie and dress only ocasions while your "lowly" sport kilt will become a good friend that goes on adventures digs in the garden and just celebrates life with you. You got to love an easily cleaned garment over on that must be dry cleaned.
Please excuse the spelling errors. My IPhone is "helping" me.

    Re: My First Kilt

Sport Kilt makes good-looking kilts. The pastor at my nephew's Scottish wedding was wearing a MacFarlane Sport Kilt. He looked every bit as natty as anyone in the wedding party.

I like the look of yours, too, and you wear it well. Your accessories "fit" nicely with the entire outfit - Balmoral, sporran, kilt pin, and the white hose highlight the crest on your shirt. Good show!
I changed my signature. The old one was too ridiculous.

Thumbs up Re: My First Kilt

    Looks good to me!

Hey, I started life with a $90 budget kilt in Black Watch. It was nothing special, but it looked good and served it's purpose like a good soldier
I've since moved on to a Newsome box pleat.

Whatever choices you make, wear it well ...it looks like you already are!

    Re: My First Kilt

Looking good! My first was also a Sport Kilt - beware the addiction - my collection now includes 2 x 16 oz 8 yarders and I have a box pleat on order from Keltoi, one of the X Marks sponsors.

    Laochri,

So, what's your impression of your Sportkilt? Everyone here seems to love them. I have yet to purchase my first kilt and I was thinking of going the Sportkilt route myself. Do you also highly recommend one? By the way, it looks good on you!

Well without having anything to compare to, I'll try. I think it is a good first kilt. They have 9 different kilts to choose from.

    Ready to Go
    The Original Sport Kilt
    The Works Kilt
    Ultimate Kilt
    Commando Kilt
    Hiking Kilt
    Specialty Fabric Kilts
    Comfy Kilt
    Team Kilt

There other vendors that are cheaper. One that Sponsors X-Marks. Stillwater Kilts have actual wool 6-8yd kilts for a really good price.

I hope I answered your question.
