Also, NH, I haven't seen any DIY stuff from you lately. What gives?
I found a job. I actually do have some stuff to post- problem is, it's not kilt related. It's archery related.

Don't knock it, guys. It's my size, and if I were a MacLeod I'd be very much tempted.
A noble attempt, Matt! But the thing is hideous, let's face it.
Why not, instead of the outfit you propose, fully embrace the garishness of it and wear that jacket with a bright scarlet-based or purple-based kilt, with a vivid lime green waistcoat..?
Why, such an outfit could give these a run for their money!

Why any MacLeod would be tempted to wear that tartan is beyond me (it being an Allen Brothers one, absolutely bogus, and ugly to boot).

Neither of the auctions are mine, looks like you might get a bargain though

Let's just say some would disagree with your assessment of their tartan. I, personally, don't prefer tartans quite that bright, but I have seen many wear them and look good doing so. It's just a matter of personal taste. And the MacLeods are rather fortunate in that regard, having both bright and more muted color tartans to choose from.
I'm just saying, IF I were a MacLeod, and proud of my clan's tartan, I would be rather tempted by this jacket. :-)

LOL
Back OT
I think someone with real dash could pull it off with real style. Sadly I have no dash, nor am I a Macleod.

It's not a tartan for everyone, perhaps, and you don't like that, that is very clear, but to some that are Macleods it is very much a symbol of the Clan, so perhaps a little moderation wouldn't be a bad thing, there are lots of tartans around to choose, and you don't have to choose this one, others who might want to honour their family may well select this one, as to it being bogus I think it is in the VS which means at the very least a history of over 150 years, and there are many Clans who could only wish that.
It's not a favourite of mine, but I can see an outfit looking very presentable.
