Last warm summer in metro Chicago, a Stillwater Thrifty proved for this use, the perfect ultra-cheapie who cares what happens to it knock around the homestead kilt.

I swear by my 4yrd box pleats for the summer months (May-Oct around here). I usually retire my 8yrd traditionals during that time. I travel to Miami occasionally, and the 4yds do well there too. Sill made of wool, just less of it wrapped around me.
