Does he do a Davidson Tartan?
I like a nice short parade that ends at a bar.

He shows on what current tartans he has on hand on Ebay, you can't order anything else as far as I am aware though I guess it wouldn't hurt to enquire.
I must get around to doing my review of the Black Stewart I recently had from him.

I believe that one of the previous threads had someone getting a non advertised tartan, but it worked out about the same price as most other people.
I'm sure his "end of roll" deals are where the $$$ differemce comes

I have an 8X16 Robertson Hunting Ancient in wool and a PV 5 yard Campbell Of Cawdor from Bob and they're both right nice. Just got the Campbell Of Cawdor recently and it's going to be the perfect thing for that not too hot/not too cold thing.
Best

My 8yd, 16oz bespoke kilt in the MacAulay Hunting tartan was a "custom" job; it was not one of his advertised tartans on his ebay website. He advised me it was part of the Lochcarron Mill "Rare Select" line, and that it would take a little bit longer to get in and to construct the kilt. After contacting him to ask if it was available, he came back with the price.
When I asked what other tartans he had access to besides the MacAulay, he replied with about 30-40 of the more popular tartans not listed on his ebay store page. I don't want to speak out of place but it appeared as if he could get most tartans, but the "non-adertised" tartans are a bit more pricy, but not unreasonably so when compared to ebyay stock.

Congrats on your kilts.
Im very happy with my MacLean Hunting. He was great to deal with. He even through in some flashes when if asked if he could send material so that I can makee some. We also talked about availability, he said he can get most tartans.

Just for the record this kilt, I believe, is not pleated to stripe, but rather to sett.
Still a beautiful kilt. I, too, own and love my one Bobolishious 8yd 16oz kilt in the Braveheart movie tartan. Congratulations.

I also think Bob (Bobilishious) Chalmers defies the old adage and offers a great combination of high quality, great value and excellent service. I have a number of Kilts from him and have never been disappointed with any of them...
EDIT: Until now.

It is said that life is a learning curve. Well what better place to learn than here on X Marks. I've just read through a fascinating thread regarding Kilts that are found to have been constructed without stabiliser. (clickety click).
Thought I'd do the buckle-pull test described there-in using my new Black Watch Weathered Kilt as the guinea pig.
Guess what?
Caveat emptor applies I suppose. I feel a bit of expensive coming on as I can't stitch on a button.
