In Canada, we pretty much do have a day for everybody, by one name or another. That being said, perhaps not the whole population celebrates them, not in the way that Saint Pat's has managed to make everyone "Irish for the day" For example, Tartan Day is mostly celebrated by people of Scottish background and/or affiliation.

Jock,
In most larger, metropolitan American cities, yes.
Example: I can certainly speak for my hometown of Saint Louis, Missouri. There are cultural festivals all around the city of Saint Louis (mainly during the spring and summer months) ranging from a decent Oktoberfest for those of German descent (and beyond), to a massive Greek festival for those of Greek descent (and beyond) and almost everything in between (Poles, Italians, Hungarians, French, Bosnians, Scots-Irish, Irish, Welsh, Scottish, English, Thai, Japanese, Mexicans, Chinese, etc).
However, arguably the more prominent/major celebrations and festivals held annually in the greater Saint Louis area, are centered more around the Scottish, Irish, Welsh, English, French, Italian, Greek, and German cultures. Naturally, each major American city has their own unique cultural identity and 'melting pot,' thus creating a multitude of various cultural festivals and events.
Cheers,

Well, Jock, yes. Most of these celebrations are centered in ethnic communities but some extend to National level whether officially recognized or not. Cinco de Mayo [Mexican] comes to mind, as well as Oktoberfest [German]. If you look around you can find any number of ethnic/cultural celebrations.
