Well, back from very sunny Alba. (Two hours kayak fishing in the sea = very red kness...)
Had a great time - fished, drank whisky, had to let the kilt out a bit..
Pics will follow once I've downloaded the digital camera and got the films developed.
Can't recommend the location enough, especially the site we stayed at - Drumroamin Farm, Kirkinner. Was very clean, lots of stuff for the kids, HUGE shower cubicles, quiet, lovely views over to Carsluith.
Only complaint was that Loch Arran Mills are still advertising an outlet in Minigaff (just over the Bladnoch from Newton Setwart), but it actually closed about 2 years ago apparently and is now a chemists...
Oh, and went for a meal at the highly recommended Blanoch Inn accross from the distillery - lousy service and my rare steak was anything but!
However, the House O'Hill Hotel in Bargrennan was the exact opposite - staff were very friendly, impressive range of whiskys and the food was more than 5*. The Wild venison in red wine stew was absolutely delicious!
