*cringe* Don't get caught up in matchy-matchy! Matching the hose to the jacket would be trying too hard.

My thoughts, costing nowt and therefore worth nowt, are based on what I would do?
Jacket and waistcoat - Great. I want one. Where did you find it?
Shirt - White or cream or even pale yellow at a push. Standard collar.
Tie - Long, plain Navy or dark Green. Windsor knot (because it is beautifully symmetrical).

Hose - Whatever you have in the way of proper Kilt socks. If you haven't, don't skimp, try and get some. Any colour but if you ARE buying, Bottle green or Navy, bright red flashes.
Shoes - Black or brown, lace-up, polished (not ghillies, you'll scare the children).
Sporran - Whatever you have except full mask (you'll scare everybody). If you're buying, a plain day sporran in black or brown, follow choice of shoes usually (although you don't have to). This will likely give you most mileage in the future.
Attitude - Relax, it's only clothes.

Ditto with one exception...red tie.

Scottish/Italian? I suggest one of those pinstriped kilts with a matching Argyll, a fedora, dark glasses, and a sporran shaped like a violin case, LOL! Well, maybe not, but that's the vision that leapt into my head.

I got the jacket from Macgregor and Macduff ex hire section. This coat and a few others they have like it are customer trade ins from what I gather, so they are not always available. You have to keep checking the website.

Thanks for the responses guys !
I'm not new to wearing Highland Attire, far from it, but when I do wear it it's either with the band ( Black Argyll, white hose LOL ) or for formal events when I really don't feel like wearing my tux (PC Coat, etc). I am new to day wear though. Hence all the questions.
I was thinking brown for the hose but is it just me or are they really hard to find ?

Not at all. The Scottish Tartan Museum (click on logo at top of page) gift shop has some really nice ones. Brown isn't one of the more common colors, but far from rare.

Seeing as it is a five button waistcoat, most of a long tie will be hidden.
Do not be too hasty to discount a bow tie.

I 100% agree with Tobus's remarks, but I add that it's a good idea to match the leather color in shoes and sporran. And I like Chas's suggestion of a bow tie. The jacket looks extremely dapper. Wishing the happy couple the best of luck.
