The PC is definately too formal. Go with the navy kilt jacket (without the vest, due to the difference in colour).

Buckles on the right hip -

Move both by the same amount.
If you don't count the setting up time of gathering the equipment; adjusting the light levels; trying on before hand; measuring (twice); marking the new position and removing the existing buckle and strap - then all it takes me is 59 minutes for the actual sewing.
Your seamstress should be able to do it well within time.

This is easily a project that I could accomplish during the kids' nap time. As long as your seamstress knows what she's doing there's no reason she shouldn't be able to finish it in time for your reunion.

So, Chas, now I'm confused. I thought it was move the buckle(s) on the right side and the strap that goes through the button hole on the left hip equal distance.

Lancer, you just said the same thing as Chas did. If you lay the kilt out flat, you will find it's the buckle(s) closest to and the strap on the under-apron that gets moved. And, I just did it on the three buckle (two on the one site, one on the other, i.e. moved two buckles) knockabout acrylic in about 30 mins.

I wore my kilt to my 40th reunion. It was a warm evening and the party moved between an outdoor deck and an indoor bar with a DJ. I wore it with a polo shirt. A lot of girls (women) that never gave me the time of day in High School wanted their pictures taken with me. I was very comfortable in the kilt, with the outside temp in the mid 90's.
Now, we are preparing for a 60th birthday party for members of the class. A lot of my classmates are asking if I am wearing the kilt. It will be a lsast minute decision.

I will say that I wore my kilt to our class get together, no reunion just a bunch of friends hanging out at a pub. Now, I don't drink and it's good I don't or I could be in great trouble. Due to the wife's work schedule she was not able to attend. The ladies could not keep their hands to themselves and if I were intoxicated I may not have had the sense to leave before it got out of hand.
I have never been so hit upon in my life even by women that were not in our group.
I will admit it was great fun but I had to skeedadall!
If I had grabbed women they way I was I likely would be in jail.
If I were single the only pants that would be in my closet would be fire department uniform pants.

This past Saturday, since I had business to handle in The City, I took my kilt to the kilt maker at William Glen & Sons (formerly Hector Russel) to be altered. It is ready for pick up any time and only cost me $50.
I have a question for the Rabble. I have already decided that I will wear my kilt on Saturday night however, some people at my job that I have told about my upcoming reunion have told me NOT to wear the kilt but could not give me one good reason. Can anyone give me one good reason why I should not wear my kilt?

You're asking a bunch of enablers?
