If the tatoos in Borneo are anything like those in Polynesia, here's what I think. I recall seeing a documentary film some years ago on polynesian tatooing. This is a true test of pain endurance as the dermal puncturing is done with a sharpened boars tooth mounted on the end of a stick. The device is continuously struck against the skin like a drumstick. The black "ink" is powdered charcoal mixed with fuel oil which is rubbed into the bleeding skin. The tatoos are large and elaborate. Men often pass out during the proceedure...But I, I couldn't go for that as I'm not polynesian or Bornean...so I'm not entitled to wear one.

That's how it looked in the film. I think Vince said it took 6 1/2 hours for the two he was given. Wow!

Thanks bob,
I'm in a unique position because I never know if one of my customers wants their name known on a forum. (some don't.) I just use what they use and wait for permission.
But Bob it is.

Wow, this topic have strayed so far from "how many tattoos do you have". lol
I have five. Celtic Dragon on my left shoulder with a Kanji symbol for creativity underneath it, Tribal vampyre on my upper back between my shoulder blades (my design), sagitarius symbol on my left ankle, and my O'Donnell family crest on my right outer calf.
Think that's enough. All 3 of my brothers have the crest in different places. And all three are younger and have several more tats than I.

This is an interesting topic. I considered getting a tattoo last summer. I was going to get my clan crest. Since I do alot of road cycling, I was going to get it on my left calf so everyone could see it when I rode but it would be hidden when i dressed for work. Still thinking about it

I'm working on a tattoo which will go on my lower back. It will incorporate both Clan badges, and ...... ?. My father is look at getting his first, our Clan badge with Celtic knotwork as a band. I would also like to get the Rampant Lion somewhere, not sure where yet.
