Unfortunately, clearing the pitch didn't improve Scotland's chances as we were yet again gubbed. My favourite comment was posted on the online text commentary when someone asked halfway through the match if there was any truth to the rumour that the tartan army were now frantically shovelling the snow back onto the pitch in an effort to end the misery.

This is bad news, sorry, I didn't know.

Here is our snow game v Costa Rica which had a more pleasant result. Should have been 2 due to the foul on Clint Dempsey

And we managed to squeeze out a point v Mexico though being outshot 19 to 1. It is extremely difficult to pick up any points in Mexico City: like they say, you can train for the altitude but you can't train for the smog (altitude over 7,000 feet and among the worst air quality on earth).

Well said, Father Bill. They dress in what seems to be the current casual style. I don’t object to it, the only thing I have difficulty with is on some of them, the kilt length is just too long for my liking

However, it is great bonus for them having such a recognisable National Dress, people everywhere will have no problem knowing which national team they support.
