    Utili-sporran

Bear, indeed the sporrans are a fair sight, and as I reach for me wallet, I'm reminded...

I'm of 'sporty-sporran' camp of the moment, mostly because of all the bending and crouching I do, which makes a conventional sporran, well, un- comfy.

My formal sporran is on a chain (sorry, Ham, I dinna knew), and I'm wondering if a sporran strap will hold the thing higher without squeezin' me.

Also, does anyone yet make a 'proper' sporran with some organization inside? I'm thinking of a loop for a pen, hook for keys, front & back divider to keep wallet apart from flask, like that? Maybe even a slot for a phone...

The set of keys I want seems always to be at the bottom. I hate digging for stuff. I feel like, well, not so manly.

    Graham,
here is the photo from my preivous post on this subject. http://bearkilts.com/clancrests/clansporran.jpg

This is a picture of the one that I actually own.

Very lightweight sporran, and even I can get my big mitt into it.

Just to simplify things, this is Colin's MacKenzie clan sporran.

I wanted the same thing and wound up having a friend of mine that works with leather make me one. Every other type I looked at was just a open pocket inside the sporran.

Though I do like the look of the clan crest sporrans, makby get one and have someone install dividers and such inside...

Great idea! Although the space inside the sporran is small, I sometimes lose thing in there! Kinda like the dryer sock thief!

In addition to my sporran, which I treat as a large pocket, I normally wear a shirt with pockets and add a vest from time to time.

I like the idea of redesigning the sporran too, to fit in with modern life, but while retain the appearance of the traditional sporran.

Maybe we should put our design hats on for this one.

Bear/Colinthanks for the piccie of the clan sporran, they look very fine indeed.
