KCB of course I'm a bit biased but once you see a Maple Leaf kilt out in the sunlight you'll see what a great tartan and kilt it is. As you said the swatch just doesn't do it justice. Some where in here is a picture of Santa in his Maple Leaf kilt at Niagara Falls. It really looks sharp. I have also seen A Hay's ML in person and it also is very sharp.
I'm just trying to be the person my dog thinks I am.

I love the Maple Leaf tartan woven by Batley and made into a 5 yard kilt by USA Kilts. I felt I should wear the kilt and have it pictured in Canada with the US Niagara Falls in the background. It's easiest to get the falls in the background from the Canadian side.

Might I ask who F&K are? I've just never heard of them.

I remember thinking how cool that photo was the first time I saw it. Later I remembered it was a member of the Clan Claus but couldn't remember which one. I should add part of the coolness for me comes from being born in Niagara Falls Ontario and seeing Santa wearing the Maple Leaf kilt in my home town.

Earlier in this thread are 2 photos of me with the American Falls in the background when I was in Niagara Falls, Ontario the day before I was at the Niagara Celtic Festival with Clan Claus in Olcott Beach, NY. So perhaps I was the Clan Claus member you saw in the Maple Leaf Tartan.

Here are some with mine; it's a 5 yard wool kilt from USAK (Batley fabric):

That's the Maple Leaf woven by Batley, it's gorgeous in my humble opinion. When Rocky (USA Kilts) posted that he had enough to make another 5 yard kilt, along with a photo of the kilt, I jumped on and placed my order.
