I have always thought kilts were pretty cool, just not a big tartan fan. So like Ugly Bear, when I saw Mr. Norton on "Screen Savers" sporting his utilikilt(in which at that time I did not know even existed),I just had to have one. It also helped that my sweet bride thinks "he is so hot". So that just sealed the deal. I ordered one and soon I will purchase another and another and another....

My wife grew up Highland Dancing and her Father Piped. Needless to say they were always around Kilts. I decided a few years ago to do something different, I thought about taking up the bagpipes but I never have been musical. I decided to compete in the Heavy Events at the highland games and the rest is blissful History.

Thats my experience. Also I've found that if women like the kilt, they will often start the conversation.

I always liked the look of kilts but thought you needed to be Scottish to wear them.
I wore my first kilt when I was best man in a wedding party for a Scottish friend of mine.
My friend told me that Irish, Welsh and other Celtic peoples also wear kilts.
I did a little research and, being of Welsh descent, I was thrilled to find that Welshmen wear kilts and that there are a number of Welsh tartans.
Needless to say, I was hooked!

Anyways, it's often much easier to talk to women about kilts than it is to talk to men about kilts. I don't know if this is true everywhere, and I'm not really complaining about all the feminine attention, but it seems that my only influence on other men so far (if any) is through other women.
Hey there philbo. Well I think that the female attenion whilest Kilted is a great thing. I know for a fact that when the females are payiong all the attention to you in your Kilt, the men are taking note and planning on how to get a Kilt themselfs to get some of that attention. So in having the women all over you while Kilted you are influencing the men around without even having to talk with them.
As far as the Female attention, I would rather have that than being approached by Men all the time.
Cheers!
