Good for you. I got my PC and vest from Rocky and they are both very nice.

My son and I with Kathy Lare, two kilts that she made for us, and of course my USA Kilts PC and vest.
I changed my signature. The old one was too ridiculous.

You & your son look great! Two family tartans? Is Kathy a local kiltmaker out your way?
I need a dress sporran, a tux shirt and bow tie now. Hmmm. Got a stupid question about dress sporrans - can you carry stuff in them, or are they just decorative?

Frank: Thank you. Mine is the Blaylock Annandale and Joe's is the Douglas WCWM (West Coast Woolen Mill), both "Name" tartans. "Blaylock" is a family of Clan Douglas.
Kathy is a renown kilt maker (like a number of those on the forum) who lives in Albuquerque. That we were so close to such a good kilt maker, when we had our Blaylock tartans designed, was a surprising and happy coincidence. We have taken full advantage of it.
That is a good question. Most formal sporrans have a pocket in the back, but it is generally not as large as those found on day wear sporrans. That is not usually a problem, because they are worn at formal events during which one is wearing a coat and vest. You can easily stick any overflow "stuff" into your pockets.
Can't wait to see you all decked out! ![Smile](http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)

Frank: Thanks for posting those great pics! It looks like it was a perfect locale and good weather for a kirkin. Your outfit looks very handsome - nice "red" color accents with that good-looking kilt.
I prefer the second picture. You look like an incognito gangster in your hat, whereas you look very distinguished in the second shot, ... though you could be reaching for the "bad news" with your right hand. ![Wink](http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif)

Yeah, yeah, I know it John, just didn't know it till I had my pic taken. I was reachin fer the hat as the wee lass was tellin me to take it off. I agree, the 2nd pic is cool, and when I get a chance, all of it or part of it will be my new avatar pic, or whatever they call it.
It was a perfect day for it too. Not many in kilts, but a few, and a couple of older gents in trews. Was good.
Thanks!

Did ya notice the thistle in my jacket chest pocket? They were giving them to everyone that came in. I didn't have a clue as to where to put it, but the usher assisted me...

I did. That's part of the "red" accent that looks so good with your outfit. You could have put it in your hat band, but then you could only wear it outside the kirk. Looks fine in your pocket.

Cool. There was one guy in church that kept his diced balmoral on. Don't think I would have.
Next kilted deal is St. Andrews Society Thursday night. This will be my 2nd time at one of these meetings.
