Thanks for your kind words, friends. Our other pups are missing the leader of the pack, but are adjusting ok. It was good that they got to say goodbye as well, instead of Boo just disappearing after a ride to the vet.

If we don't break any rules, I would certainly like to hear this Fr. Bill. I never had a dog until I got married, my wife has had them their whole life and they are now integral too our life. Even our Wi-Fi, who is blind in one eye. My wife, who is a lady of faith, is convinced that Heaven will allow her to reunite with all the dogs she has had in life and loved.

We recently lost our bestest cat to his unwillingness to come in one night. Awakened by odd sounds, I got outside too late, and he was
already gone, but the dogs hadn't torn him up. I brought him in and cleaned him up, and held him up for each of the other cats, and told them to we needed to say good-bye to a good friend. They all clearly miss him, but there's no acting out that we've seen after other losses. It did help.

For you, I'll say I lost my last dog, a Borzoi, in 1979. I haven't gotten to where I can have another. We were known widely throughout Atlanta, likely more than two thousand people knew and loved him. Twenty years later, people still came up to me saying, hesitantly after so long, "Aren't you......Leo's daddy? Is he........? What ever happened with him? He was the best dog I ever knew." Almost word for word, person after person. The reason for the explanatory discourse is to allow me to say I am still, after more than thirty years, gaining understanding of what this amazing being I got to know had to teach me about love. We don't get to play with them, or laugh with them, but like all others we've loved and seen cross over, they aren't really gone. In an odd way,
they seem to me closer even than when they were here. Just not available for holding in our arms.

    My condolences and warm thoughts.
