If you want to spend money the possibilities are endless. You could get a blackwatch tartan Argyll jacket, tartan or diced hose, tartan flashes, a plaid. There are even sporrans with tartan on them so you could have a blackwatch tartan sporran.

I think you can purchase most things in blackwatch. If the party is indoors I wouldn't spend money on a hat.

I think a head to toe tartan thread would be enjoyable. Everyone could post atrocious head to toe tartan outfits!

Black watch fabric is easy to come by- you might make your own "overseas cap" instead of a Glengarry. For one evening, you might even wrap your own Black Watch puttees. My CRS has me forgetting the name of the woven hose that predate diced hose. If you don't care how perfectly they fit or how comfortable they are, you could whip up a pair for the event...

May I suggest, also, a Zorro style mask?

We all know that it isn't a colour, but since the OP decided to go tartan, we all jumped on the bandwagon.
    In short:
It's not a colour, but a great idea.

I LOVE that it took two pages for this to be mentioned.

    NEW TOPIC:

What wise reply can I say to folks at the party who make this observation?

And to reply to various comments I read: pocket square would be awesome, but I'm not sure my BW jacket can be taylored for kilt wear in time, and wouldn't wear one with a vest/waistcoat. I priced the diced socks and anything that's >100 pounds BEFORE shipping is going to be too much in American dollars for a joke outfit. I saw those hats on Amazon (of course I looked there too) I think my head is 8 1/4 U.S. and I'm not interested in buying a joke hat that I can't try on that probably won't fit when it gets here.

Party is Sept 27th people, so try to keep me on schedule!

AND, I have to know why did Panache do the BW man? I'm not judging, just want to know (so I can judge.)
