This has been on my wish list for some time, though I want to make it more like an Vandegrift (ie, Ike or Battle Jacket) jacket. I keep checking the thrift store at Quantico in anticipation of a relatively inexpensive blouse that I can cut down.

Sorry, was teaching classes all day and not able to reply sooner. I had the sporrans modeled after one that I purchased that I liked the shape of, but I didn't like the tassels on it. I took it apart and created a template from the parts and had a friend of mine that makes belts and saddles create the sporrans for me using my template. I am wanting to make another one using a "distressed" brown leather to see what that looks like.

He is trying to teach me how to do the leatherwork myself so that hopefully I will be able to make my own sporrans completely in-house instead of having to have someone else do the work for me.

    OC Richard,

I wish I would have seen those sooner, would have saved me from having to come up with my own, lol. Are the Royal Regiment of Scotland sporrans only available in brown?

Like you show in the photo, I am also using belts for the sporrans instead of chains. The chain just didn't look "right" to me. The belt looks much better.
