black watch.I have one already too
and that's what I was thinkin'
add to shooping cart, get more info, then if not happy, pull out. I do it all the time, but ebay won't let you do that.

I'm not fond of ebay, yet I have friends who are very expert at getting bargains there, maybe I'm not clever enough for the complexities of ebay.
I would rather buy a kilt from a kiltmaker I trust, not that I am judging you for even trying, I just couldn't be bothered.

Thanks for the warning Phil! I have a brother-in-law that does a lot of stuff on e-bay. I'll send the warning on to him.

Hold on!
While I rarely discuss my business on the message boards, I am going to jump in for a moment:
I am the ebay vendor in question here. (feedback score 501, 100% positive, ebay PowerSeller, nearly 3 years in business)
This gentleman politely and graciously e-mailed me explaining what had happened (he is new to ebay)
I assured him he was under NO obligation to complete the sale (unlike some sellers), I explained that I would get a refund of the listing fees for that auction from ebay by filing a NPB form, and I explained that only in the unlikely event that he accumulated three of them, would ebay take action. An NPB does not affect feedback scores.
This is standard ebay procedure, no malice intended.
He advised me that he had decided to proceed with the sale. Had he not, that would have been the end of it, assuming he was more careful in the future. Totally his decision.
He then posted a friendly warning here reminding us to be careful bidding (always good advice), and some of you took it all out of proportion, suggesting I was some kind of bully intent on getting him kicked off ebay if he didn't cough up the cash- ***!
Short of recovering the listing fees I paid, I was happy to let it slide with no hard feelings, no negative feedback, nobody kicked off ebay.
Phil: You still are under no obligation. In fact, I'll eat the auction fees on this one and write it off, no NPB, as long as you try to bid carefully in the future! If you decide to complete the purchase, I will be honored to give you your first positive ebay feedback.

Jerry, I think most of us took the post for what it was, a warning to be careful, or that is the way I took it! I was just going to pass the warning on to the brother-in-law.

Sciuropterus-
You'll have to pardon our concern for Phil. We like the guy and didn't want to see him less than happy with a purchase or, in this case, non-purchase. From the content of your post you do indeed appear a credible vendor with an excellent customer rating.
Thanks for your word on the matter.

first off may I say, I had nor have any intention to "bad mouth" a vendor. I did not mention the vendors name. like I said some of you have had kilts from this guy.
it was my own stupid fault.
clicking like a madman not reading the agreement, lets face it, when you install software you just click Ok(not readin agreement) and have done with it,knowing you can back out later if need be,with ebay I found the
"backing out" not as easy, this is NOT the fault of the guy from stillwater.but, my own fault.
here follows the email between us to clear things up a bit.........I don't thin I clicked submit.
I don't know what to tell you! You had to click thru two links to finalize a purchase, and it was explained every step as to what is happening.
You need to understand that, once you agree to purchase, (by clicking the "BUY NOW" link and reviewing the terms and then clicking "submit") I am charged a listing and final value fee by ebay for selling the item.
I will not force you to complete a sale that you had no intention of entering- it is entirely up to you, but if you decide the purchase was indeed an accident I will have to file a NPB report with ebay- the only way to recover my costs of selling the item. Any buyer who gets 3 NPB (non-paying bidder) reports is no longer allowed on ebay.
This is not a good way to start your ebay experience, and I appreciate that no matter what step you decide to take, it will probably leave a bad taste in your mouth!
Best regards,
Jerry V

well it looks like I bought myself a new kilt.
I was just trying to see how I could pay for it.
then BANG, I bought it, dunno how.
I am new to ebay.
I didn't intend to buy it.
anyway if this creates a problem, then I WILL buy it.
I just need to know the total and the address to send a us check to.
I live in Canada.
so the shipping will be different.
sorry for any problems.
END OF EAMIL....................
p.s.
I"M VERY SORRY FOR ANY PROBS OR HARD FEELINGS THIS MAY HAVE CAUSED.

Jerry, at no time did I think you were a badguy from Phils post. My only comment was if you don't see the info you need on the auction page email the seller. On line auctions can be confusing for newcomers.

Jerry, when I said "I would rather buy a kilt from a kiltmaker I trust" I didn't realise you were the vendor, your business has a good reputation. I assumed it was one on the dodgy kilt deals we hear about on Ebay from time to time.
Hope there was no offense
