I've kind of dropped off the map these last few months, having rejoined the ranks of the employed in early November. After last year's embarrassing attempt to run the show (the unexpectedly heavy beverage on an empty stomach before the dinner began wasn't helpful), I may prefer to be part of the rowdy crowd this year.
But I'd be pleased to put together and print the programmes once all the details are finalized.
Let me know, Jim!

If the dates are still debatable, I'd request the 28th. I have another obligation on the 21st, and I'd really love to attend a Burns Supper.

This gives us a bit of a bind. With Heather hoping for work, she's probably more likely to be unavailable the longer we delay, and she done good last time.
On the other hand, Wareyin has been most diligent in building community this past year, so it would be good to accommodate him if possible. As well, one
more week of practice would be helpful to those uncertain of their ability to be in front of folk, especially if someone else would like to take a shot at the
Address to the Haggis. Lamar said he would consider that, but more likely would find a poem. And Creag, I don't seem to recall you messing up last year, and certainly no more than anyone else.
Jim has tentatively agreed to take on the Immortal Memory again; he's probably most qualified, and he likes to do both that and Tam O'Shanter. I think he's like me in that we're both happy to jump in wherever needed, and at the same time, we're both so used to being the the guy at the front we don't need it, and are therefore very happy to step back and let anyone who wants a shot at something take it. If you're feeling froggy, jump. Wider participation is a good thing.

As I told Jim, I would love the opportunity to read a poem, but since this is my first Burns Supper (finally!) I would like to see how everything is done before jumping blindly into a major part. However, once I get my feet good and wet, I will be glad to take on more responsibilities as needed.
Additionally, Will and I will be able to come either date, the 21st or the 28th, so count us in either way.

I will be there! Can you clarify the $20 thing, please? Are we buying tickets ahead of time, paying at the door, or is the $20 the cost for admission plus food?

$20 per person at the door covers admission, the meal, and a shot of good scotch. If you plan to have other drinks that's separate. Please also add a reasonable tip for the wait staff and chef at the Tavern.

I do have a prior engagement on the 28th - a bit of astronomy outreach for a Boy Scout troop in Northwest Georgia. But it's weather dependent, so if it's too cloudy for telescopes I'll be at the Tavern. But I may not know until the actual day.

Sounds GREAT! I'm glad it's going to be on the weekend so maybe more folks can come. I can't tell ya how many I'll bring this year but I'll at least be there.
LOCH SLOY!
Cheers, Wil
