Navy...
See: http://www.nadn.navy.mil/Pipes/ for the Pipes & Drums of the US Naval Academy.
The "father" of the US Navy, John Paul Jones, was a Scot, born near Kirkbean. His boyhood home is now a museum:

I also had an awesome time last night, as did my wife. I'm just glad I moved my work schedule around so I'm working a night shift tonight.
I uploaded the pics I took to my website. Figured they didn't all need to take up the Xmarks server. I'll upload our group photo later this evening.
The pics are here.
And now, for me, back to bed!

Thanks for the pics Joel!
It's nice for those of us who can't travel cross-continental for the night.

I had great time. It's been a while since I've been to Finnigan's Wake. And it's always interesting to meet Internet friends in Meatspace.
I thought one of the band's warm up songs was especially noteworthy:
"Hey, MacLeod, get off of my Ewe"
(as in the Rolling Stones, Hey, you, get off of my cloud..)

Nice pics Joel! So THAT'S what everybody looked like. Much better without the blurring and in single form.
I can't thank you guys enough for coming out. Along with the old USAKilts customers, friends, the other bands in Philly and the folks that had NO idea that we were even there... it was truly fun.
If you guys can make it out on Friday the 22nd, it will be MUCH more informal... which means that I can drink more.
You guys are the best!

Jimmy, with my being in central Virginia (a far piece from Philly), I checked out your link to the Barleyjuice website and ordered a CD. I'll be able to listen to your music, but, alas, I'll have to sit here in my kilt and drink alone.

WOW! Thanks for the order! It's probably all the better that you're listening on the CD. The visuals will be MUCH better than they actually are, the sound mix will be better, and you won't have to drive home.
Next time we're down in the area, I'll have to toss you a notice!

So, Jimmy. What's the ultimate plan for all the footage Chuck was taking last night? "Barleyjuice Uncut: The Behind the kilt story"? Or are you guys planning a horrible breakup in a few years and wanted some before footage for the "VH1 Behind the music" documentary to be aired in 2015?
