I think you failed to see my smilies!! Oh, and I do know how "Royal Welch Fusiliers" should be spelled
And if anyone thinks I am going to stand, in a kilt, with one foot up on a table whilst there are people roaming about with leeks in their hands, and a goat in the room, they have another think coming!!

Great pics folks!
What did you do on your day in London? Sightseeing? Lunch with a couple of beers?
How about a pro-kilt storming of the house of commons next time?

Hamish, I figured you probably would know, and Derek, but some of my Yank cousins might not! :mrgeen:
I was being "tounge-in-cheek" as well, but I have participated in that ritual at a gentleman's stag smoker that we held here in Springfield one evening after a round of shooting -- alas, no goat was present, save some of the members of the group!
Cheers,

Hamish, some of the Welsh tartans are absolutely fantastic! The Phillips tartan is absolutely beautiful in my opinion (no I'm not biased from the Phillips side of the family, why do you ask?)
The Welsh National (St. David's) tartan is particularly handsome. Usually reds and greens just remind me of Christmas, but the shades in St. David's always make me think of deep dark forests. Very earthy tones.
Most of the family tartans are carried by the Welsh Tartan Center in Cardiff. Check this out.

Just to let you know what we did in London ... well .. not a lot really. We met on the steps of the National Gallery and then took off to Covent Gardens where Ham knew a nice little pub (which sold real ale as it happened)where we had a few beers and a fab meal. We did'nt meet until midday by the way ... Elaine and myself had to use the National Express Bus to get to London .. all the cheap train tickets had gone for that day. We all chatted so much at the pub we forgot about the time but eventually made our way back into Covent gardens. Guess its about 3pm by now. We took some pictures there, then hiked back to Trafalgar Square stopping on route at a Dixons shop where we bought some ink for our printer and Ham bought a very lightweight tripod for his camera. Then we took several more pictures at Trafalgar Square. Time now must be around 4pm and unfortunately our bus for the return was at 5pm. So Han suggested we amble down Whitehall which we did to the underground at Embankment. We all caught a tube to Victoria where Ham went to the Victoria train station and we went to Victoria coach station. It only takes 1hr 50m on the train for us but 3 and half hours on the coach .. thats why we were leaving early. We could have stayed in London until 8 or 9pm with the train. Anyhow were taking the train next month as we have all planned to meet up again. Can't wait. No doubt there will be more pictures. Derek
