Just got an email from James at SportKilt. They're making a full length Macdonald tartan sash for me to replace the short one. I'm a happy camper.

Also just posted a pic of my Macdonald tartan SportKilt with their hose. Wore it to a local concert last weekend. Works for a remote western town like Page, AZ...

Yikes!! The Sportkilt order arrived, opened it up and I'm missing the Macdonald flashes I ordered...packing slip says they're there...fine tooth comb search says they were left out. We'll see how this plays out.

The Scot Skye "tartan" Sportkilt looks as good as I hoped. They even toss in an extra piece of velcro for modifications if needed...

Scary to be in these "our word against yours" situations over shipping. Guess flashes are small and easy to forget...just damned expensive to have one go missing from the box.

Anyway, emailed James and crew about it,(they don't have an 800 number)- we'll see what happens...

Good news is there was a lot less smoke stink in this shipment..everything was nicely bagged up in clear plastic. Still smells smoky but no where near the blast that knocked me over the first order from them.

Either that or you're getting used to it

I have a Sportkilt, it was actually my first kilt. I can't remember noticing the smokey odor though. I do have one question though. What the heck is the extra velcro susposed to be used for?

Got a prompt email back from James that said the flashes that weren't with the SportKilt order were in fact on backorder, rather than not shipped.

Sadly, the packing slip didn't so indicate. Anyway, he says he's shipping them soon along with the full length Macdonald tartan sash....

The extra velcro I got had a note that said it was in case the size wasn't right I should sew it on so that the kilt fit better... Didn't get any with the Sportkilt I got in August, did get it with the kilt today.

Success....the correct size Macdonald sash and flashes arrived from SportKilt today. Okay, I'm a happy camper.

Brian asked about the kilt sox that SportKilt sells..I like them, so far they wash up well. They're not as fancy as Traditional sox.

Ironic. I usually wear the SportKilt sox with my non-tartan kilts and the Traditional sox with my tartan SportKilts.

My answer to the sox buying dilemna is to buy a few from different places...the ones I like so far are Carhart's wool worksocks from the local outfitter that sells to the guys working at the plant. They work well when I'm wearing boots with a kilt.

Anyhow, once they got on the stick seems like SportKilt came through with service...
