This is so long, I couldn't go through it all today, and chances are that I have answered before. But I've slept since then, so I don't remember.
I am a certified high school English and math teacher, not currently (5/1/09 for future reference) teaching, but probably will in the fall because I can't afford insurance. I am the executive director of a non-profit, Alcovy CASA. We recruit and train community volunteers to represent the best interests of children who are the victims of abuse/neglect in court. It's a great job, but non-profits don't pay that well unless you're with a really big one.
I'm also a methodist minister, serving a small congregation in the rural area near here. Went to Candler School of Theology, but the ministry was too tough on the family back in the 80s, so I left the parish for manufacturing.
Prefer to be a full-time grandfather to Madeline and Will (2 and 1), but that doesn't pay either. On the side I dabble in buying and trading Scottish stuff.

I'm a full time caregiver of three carbon based life forms (sorry Weasel Mender--I couldn't help myself)--four if you count my husband.
It is the most emotionally and mentally challenging thing I have ever done in my life. Also the most rewarding. I wouldn't trade it for any career in the world despite the fact that it seems like I am regularly cleaning up someone's poop.

I am a letter carrier for the USPS near Palm Springs Ca, with a total of 26 years at the job. I am currently off, since March, on stress leave and not much hope of going back any time soon. I am also shop steward and secretary of the local branch.
Last year at the national convention in Boston there was a resolution for the union to to approve a (MUG)=Male Unbifurcated Garment. I thought it was a wonderful idea but few others did, it was not taken seriously and hooted down. I thought a postal blue kilt would be fun.

Well, how to answer this. I am employed by a rather large bank as an MIS manager. Of course, I no longer do MIS or programming but I now deal with the finance of running our mainframe environment.
"A veteran, whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve, is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life." That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it." anon
