CAJUNSCOT...
Is this why we preach, "Know Your Tartan"?
Could you imagine if he had this information BEFORE meeting-up with that guy at the Highland Games?

Jimmy...
Exactly, Jimmy...Matter of fact, I posted an article about The Lord of the Isles last week under "General Kilt Talk" that mentioned some of points I made.
We can't say it enough, can w? Know your tartan.
Perhaps some of us should start a tartan consulting service?
Slainte!

Xmarks Tartan Consulting Sevice. It does have a nice ring to it, sure would be helpful, as it already has in the many posts here that I sometimes cannot remember.

Thanks gents,
'twas my own history that zinged me...my twig of the Macdonald tree has a great love for pointing out when another family member is "wrong" about anything.
This **** was for sure and American of Scottish descent. Think it rolled me since I was so friggin' proud to be wearing my new Kathy's Kilt to a Highland gathering for the first time and he's trying to undermine that wonderful feeling.
And its so true about the Camerons. At the Clan Cameron booth I was welcomed with cookies and good fellowship. My 3great grandmother was Catherine Cameron.
But by God, I won't be ambushed with that line again. Between now and my next games I'll have a reply well prepared should I meet that, or anyother similar, meddling **** again.
One discovery, there are a LOT of Highland games in my area. Found flyers for Tucson, Camp Verde, Prescott, Flagstaff, and of course - Las Vegas.
I'll be back for more....bring on the twits!

Hi Cindi I read your posts with interest
As a direct descendant of all the Stewart kings of Scotland through James V, I guess I could feel 'entitled' to wear it,
Are you really?? is it via a recognised lineage or one of his illigitimate offspring
http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb....html/i973.html this page lists most of the "recognised" ancestors, its just we get people claiming to be related to Robert the Bruce/William Wallace/Rob Roy et al all the time,
im very interested to hear from anyone related to the "Wee Italian"
regards Darren

A "tartan consulting service" pretty much sums up what we provide here at the Scottish Tartans Museum. So anyone with any questions, let us know!

Yes, I am -- I'm descended from Robert the Bruce, and thus also from William the Conqueror (as your genealogy chart shows), Kenneth MacAlpin, Charlemagne, etc. I'll send you my lineage in a PM.
P.S. -- It is through a bastard line -- James V's illegitimate son, Robert Stewart, Earl of Orkney!
