David that Standard MacLeod is the Hunting version. It's similar to the Black Watch with yellow and red stripes added. Although to me the green is darker that that of the Black Watch, but the blue seems about the same color. On the Black Watch, the green is actually a lot brighter than what it appears on the Stillwater web site. Outside in daylight you can tell the blue is definately a blue, but at a distance it does appear black. I noticed that inside, under lower light, and close up, the blue looks like a dark, Navy blue, almost black.

I like both kilts very much. The 2006 standards now have the double fringed apron, inside liner, sewn down pleats, and 3 leather straps with cast buckles. Like the heavyweights. The standards are 10 oz acrylic (per e-mail from Jerry), and the heavyweights are 16 oz wool. I have noticed that the heavywieghts fit tigher at the waist than the standards for the same waist size. Hope I have answered your questions.
