Right-handed - and proud of it! Additionally, I am probably this country's most level-headed, rational, ordinary and with-it eccentric one is likely to meet. Isn't life good?!

I'm like starbkjrus and UmAnOnion, I'm a lefty who writes with my right hand. Both my parents are lefties; I was destined to be one, but I had some very old-fashion teachers in my preschool who appearently felt that lefthandedness was the devil's work.
So I do everything left handed but write; I even draw with either hand. I guess I could be a secret agent in the righthanded world. I can blend into the masses, and carry out my lefthanded missions with great stealth.

I am also right handed. I think I read somewhere that right handedness is a requirement for traditional kilt makers. I wonder if the trait of handedness is found in animals. I think my cat might be right pawed. Can one be right handed and left footed?

Don't know about animals... That is a good question. I don't see why they couldn't have preferences with appendages. As for feet, I know football (soccer) players say they have a dominate foot. At least that was what I learned when I was the photographer for my high school's football (soccer) team. I never played myself.

Its possible to have mixed "handedness", "footedness", and "eye dominance." Teaching photography I don't worry too much about "footedness" but I have seen every combination of hand and eye dominance.

Handedness (or pawed-ness) in animals has been demonstrated by researchers. They found that in most species it is split about 50-50 lefty to righty. In contrast, humans are are only about 10-12 percent left-handed.
Out of the responses so far, it looks like about one third of us are leftys, so maybe there is a correlation. Of course it could just be that leftys are more aware of handedness and are more likely to talk about it.

I'm a Lefty, like a number of others I also had a teacher that was always correcting me. I would revert back to my left hand just as soon as she turned away. However, at the blackboard in front of the entire class I was unable to revert to my natural hand. To this day I write on paper lefty and on a blackboard righty; although poorly, the left hand is almost as good (or bad).
