There’s no problem getting off the Kilt buying habit.
You just say to yourself, “This is the last Kilt I’m going to buy.”
It’s easy! I’ve already done it 6 or 8 times now.

Thats my preferred method. I try to alternate between kilts and accessories.

That goes for me too Chris. I really do not know what all the fuss is about - all these other guys still have such a long way to go, don't you think?!

I do indeed and that's not even counting the long nights watching for moths with a fly swatter and hoping that none got past the perimiter guard and got to your woolens!

Since joining this forum I have spent a heap of money on kilts, belts, hose, matching shoes, shirts, jackets, sporrans, hats, flags, posters, kilt pins, whisky, trips to Scotland, celtic events, scottish music, CD's DVD's ...the list goes on.
and what do I get for the money??
not much....freedom, enjoyment, fun, fulfillment.

If your addicted and broke there is a way out.Heres what you do:buy your son some pet sheep, your daughter a spinning wheel, your wife a loom and a sewing machine for yourself.Voila,no more overspending on kilts, you can have the tartans of your choice and sell the surplus to buy accessories.

Hello, my name is Gary and I am a kilt addict.
I've turned a corner recently. In the last week on eBay there have been three different MoD kilts (good to excellent shape, original 22 oz, one even in my exact measurements) that I have not tried to place the winning bid on. Five more dollars, and I could have had any one of them. I showed willpower and restraint, and I am on the way to recovery.
Of course, I'm spending the money that would've bought a kilt and some to have Matt Newsome design a family tartan for me ... hey, healing is an ongoing process, darn it!

HA!!
and HHAAA!!!! again
You think you buyers have got it bad? - (attempting sneer here) (failing)
WAAAAAA!!
I stayed up until 3am this morning finishing off a kilt, and since pinning in the pleats I must have shrunk because it is now TOOOO BBIIIGGGG (sob sob)
I'll have to take out one or maybe two pleats, or add to the waist suppression and press it again.
Sigh - just when I think I can wear my (almost) Black Stewart again.....
