I have to say, I'm in the opposite camp and extremly happy about it!
I'm been trying my hardest to lose weight since I put on a huge amount after my last surgery and I'm finally winning that battle. Around Christmas time I was a 41" waist and pushing towards a 42". But now I'm down to a 38" and continuing to head lower. Bad thing is that some of my kilts are now too lose! But I figure that's a good problem to have.

Get well soon
Hamish,
I'm sorry to hear about your illness and trust that as the fine weather comes you will return to being hale and hearty. I hate to think of those kilts of yours lying unworn so here's hoping that you 'shrink to fit'. Its good to see that you are still around. (no pun intended)
To others on the board who are unwell also - "Get well soon chaps"
