Welcome to xmarks - you'll find it's the best community. In upstate NY, USA I get the Scottish questions sometimes but explain that I'm of Irish descent and all of that area shares a great deal of heritage. The other question I get more than expected is whether or not I play for one of the local pipe bands.

Welcome from downunder. Dont be afraid to wear your kilt out in public. For the first time you maybe a little apprehensive, but walk tall and be proud of your kilt. You will find that people are a lot more accepting if you show confidence. As to any strange comments, just smile and keep walking [thats what i do ]Wearing the kilt in your own neighbourhood, do it. People will get used to seeing you kilted and wont think twice. To quote Pour1Malt "dinnae be afeart-and wear yur kilt proud!"

I wear the kilt in public down here in Texas and I ain't been lynched yet. Why just this morning I'm sure I had the neighbors rolling in their pickup truck watching a kilted man chasing wild pigs out of the pasture. Go for it and welcome.

Welcome from Columbus. If a kilt can be worn here in Buckeye land and it not be something OSU, I think you should be just fine in London
