Monarch, and Ballykissangel, and Hamish McBeth are all what I call "Sunday night ironing TV". They were all originally broadcast on Sunday evenings, and perfect to watch as you iron your shirts for the week - lightweight plots, pretty scenery, and not so involving that you can't turn away to deal with the tricky bit of ironing around the collar. Will be interesting to see what the BBC will come up with this autumn in the "fish-out-of-water-in-picturesque-location-drama" vein.

yup my lovely bride has been sucked into watching the first four episodes of Monarch. I had never seen it and now it has been bumped up onto honey do list.
