Here you are seeing some more of the details of my "concert kilt":

Here is the close up of the "Celtic tribal dragon" that inhabits the pleats of the concert kilt.

Notice the metal and patch version of the Nautical Star (I Have a pair tattooed on my chest)

By the way it is always a blast to go out to the movies in my kilts. Tonight was the Black and white SCA kilt with the fresh heraldry markings and belt loops and belt. I hope these were the details you all wanted to see. please let me know if there is anything else you guys wanted to know or see.

Sunflash, I am speechless! What a talent you have. After getting on for 60 years of kilt wearing, I still cannot put one together - Heaven knows I have tried (but not recently!). You must surely have had previous experience of tailoring and/or sewing?

I love the two-tone effect (but rather a lot depends upon the combination of colours/fabrics selected), and was dithering over the colours I wanted to order from Jeff at Pittsbugh Kilts, when he announced he was giving up for a while. Your black and white kilt is stunning, although I would have slight personal reservations about the quartered apron, and I am afraid the appliquéd patches and design work don't really do it for me. Nevertheless, you have my fullest admiration and I look forward to seeing your future creations. Well done, my friend!

Thank you very much. I have done some sewing in the past but not very much. A single pair of pants, some tactical gear and a jacket for a costume a few years back. As far as the quartered front apron and the estoils (the wavy six pointed stars) That was all done as honors to the Barrony of Winters Gate, the SCA orginization I just joined here in Fairbanks. Think of it as if it were a surcote over the armor of a medival knight in a tournament and you will see why it was done that way. They are definatly more of a modern design and siding towards my punk music side of my tastes as far as the other goes. Thank you again however for the compliments. They really are much easier than you would think as long as you start with a single solid color and are not afraid of asking questions at your local Jo Anne fabrics or equivelant store. I actually ended up with some new friends and a few dates by being the guy who keeps coming into the fabric store and alwase showing off something else I sewed.

well,what can I say, they all look great, and a compliment from Hamish too, thank you for the "close ups" I was interested in seeing the method of closure, is it a strap and buckle on both sides? you can buy the proper ones on ebay and L and M in Nova Scotia.http://www.landmhighland.com/default...typ=31&pid=176

I was in Fergus yesterday and was talking to rob of "R-kilts" and I said I would like a leather kilt with 2 colour pleats, I like things that are a little different.
keep up the great work both with the kilts and in Iraq.
I would be very interested in buying one of your kilts to add to my collection.
I like the fact that you are doing different things, a lot of kilt makers only do it "their way" and are not very flexible.
