    Great looking kilt, Hamish!!!

Maybe it's bein' a product of the American West (we've got plenty o' rattlers around these parts), but I've always loved the look of snakeskin. I've got snakeskin boots, belt, a snakeskin print shirt & even had fake snakeskin pants way back when. Never thought anyone could turn out a snakeskin kilt, though. As Robertson would say, "Guid on ya!"

Should be fun wearin' that & seein' folks reaction!

And did you notice how the stitch pattern in the hosen reflected the pattern on the skin?

What a guy. (US sense, that is, nothing Fawkish about Hamish)

Well, it's a good thing there's no more kilts a commin' for 4 long weeks ... it'll take me at least that long to catch my breath. My mind's just realin'!!

What tartan is that? Well, it's the Venemous Swine Pit-Viper tartan, of course!

Why do you have two kilt pins? Them aren't pins, they're fangs!

So where's the rattle on that thing? It's under the kilt.

Please, Mom, I want a snake skin kilt, all my friends have got one!! Sorry, son, there's only one man in the world with a kilt like that and yer name ain't Hamish!!

I love it, Ham! How can any of us really be jealous, somebody has to lead the way, buddy, and you just do the best job of it.

I know I don't need to encourage you to ....

    Kilt On.

I know you will wear it well and enjoy it each time you are out.

I do have one question though, with 66 kilts (more than one for every day in two months do you have them numbered so you can cycle through and wear each one once before you repeat. I thought that is what I would do when I get to seven, but I have noticed even though I am at 6 I wear three (my usa casuals) a lot more than they others now because they arenīt as warm as my two Stillwaters. Just curious how you do it.

    Thanks
Many thanks Keith. I am often asked things like "Do you wear all your kilts in rotation, or do you have certain favourites which get more wear than the others?" Well, to tell the truth, I suppose I do have favourites. Also I have to admit that possibly ten of the older kilts in the Kollection have mysteriously 'shrunk' just hanging in their plastic covers, and I can no longer do them up! Strange that! Others are less appropriate for everyday wear and so they come out of the closet (if you'll pardon the expression) less frequently. Some are so darned comfortable that I cannot resist them and, at the end of a day's wearing, I really do not want to take them off. As for the rest, well, I select them for wear according to my activities, my moods and perhaps most importantly, their significance at a given anniversary or event.

I have not numbered the kilts, but each one carries the date on which it came into my possession. I do have a Kilt Inventory which indicates every kilt's description (colour/tartan, fabric, weight, yardage, etc), the kiltmaker and the date of acquisition. Additionally, each kilt has its own photo album - on its own dedicated CD! Every time I have a photo, or series of photos of a particular kilt, those images are burned on to the appropriate CD.

I know I should get a life and/or get out more but I enjoy doing this and besides, when the Kollection goes public (after my demise) there will be a reliable record of each kilt's provenance.

I am sorry, Keith. Your question was...........?

    Hi Phil,

I DO know who Les Battersby is - just - but I did not know he has a snakeskin jacket. That sounds ghastly! Who on earth, could wear such a thing, apart from Mr. Battersby?!!! No, I fear "pulling" is but a very distant memory now - in fact, I don't think I remember how it's done, it was so long ago!
