That is a most informative article, Matt.
I think I would have told that young Scotsman to do a little reseach on the internet about his national dress in order to get his facts straight.
Oddly, in the 14 months that I have worn a kilt, I've only had one person comment that they thought all kilts were tartans.

I tend to not wear my Saffron Kilt to events where people expect tartan. I do wear it often to the Irish Pub in town and everone always loves it. Sometimes you just want to go out and not have to enlighten the locals. O'Neille

Or a lack of stones to put on a kilt. Better for you to be kilted and knowledgable (and confident) than he, being ignorant and a snotty little bast ..d. You handled that well and indeed suffered this fool too long.

I'll agree with that.... There has been the odd occasion when I could have worn a kilt but didn't, just because I did not particularly feel like dealing with any hassles.
