Thanks for the warm welcome everyone!
Matt,
Welcome from the Southern Tier of NY! (I have an aunt in Tonawanda, a brother in Rochester, a mob of cousins in Salamanca, and both my parents were from Hornell. And, I went to college at Alfred U...!)
Here are some cheap kilts under $50.00; fine for a yong lad just starting out:

Goodnes you cover the whole southern tier don't you! I use to live close to salamanca but now I live inbetween olean and wellsville in a no name town called little genesee (you've probably never heard of any of those towns haha) My brother is actually attending Alfred U and I'm planning on going there when I graduate, fancy that
hmm I got a blackwatch kilt I might part with cheap for a fellow marts member if ya hollar at me as long as your a 32ish in the waist.
Thanks for the offer but unfortunatly I run in the 36-38.

Yeah, I know pretty close where you are. My Dad had a marina on Conesus lake for a while, and still has a cabin on Keuka lake, at the Hammondsport end. We love to go up and hit the wineries.
The kilt concealed a blaster strapped to his thigh. Lazarus Long

Welcome, lad. I'm in the Southern Tier, too, but at the eastern end. I've driven through your area a few times in Route 17/I-86.
Use one of the links here and get yourself an inexpensive kilt. You'll like it better than Clan MacWalmart in cotton.

Well I don't have much free money if you know what I mean Saving up for college and all the loverly expenses that come with it. Plus there's just somthing about making your own, custom tailered, hidden pockets in the pleats if I want to and the satisfaction of knowing that when I wear it that I made it from scratch  , with me bro of course It will do fine for my first, and when I have some money I'll by more nice ones with the actual scott tartan (which is the clan from my mothers side) I especially like the ancient green hunting tartan. I appreciate the advice though and look forward to many good times on here
