......and, Jim, a very warm welcome from me just a few miles to your south. I am so glad you made it here and look forward to your future very valuable contributions to the X Marks group.
And for Mr. Bill, and others who might be wondering: yes, it was me! To prove it, here are both of us in the Imperial Sand Dunes Recreational Area of southern California, just five weeks ago today:

A warm welcome from a chilly southwestern Ontario.
I sense you have a little streak of rebel in you... as do we all to a degree.
I hope you enjoy the group!

Thanks again
Once again, thanks for all the welcomes. It really makes a difference for us new arrivals, at least, it does for this one!
Hamish, denizen of these parts, has pointed me at http://photobucket.com so I will be sorting out some shots to upload.
It does appear that the Isle of Skye tartan is very popular. Not hard to see why. I've had mine about a week, and just love it.
Yes, the UK is notably wet and windy, especially this weekend. At least down here in southern England we don’t get the midges. One occasionally wonders about the logic of kilts when one recalls how Scotland is so prone to high winds, rain, sleet and snow and if the sun accidentally shines, clouds of biting insects. On the other hand, as a kid, I don’t remember noticing. Maybe that’s the trick!

Welcome aboard!
You do realize, of course, that your "sponsor" has set the bar mighty high? And, well, any friend of Hamish . . . we're just going to have to take you for a good man and a good kiltie.
A warm welcome from the Bayou City (aka Space City)--Houston, Texas.
