I wear mine to work often enough. I just haven't bothered in the past couple weeks. Why? I dunno. Well...part of it was just being lazy, as I had a few items to clean, and just kept putting it off.
Being able to wear a kilt at work is a very good thing.

Welcome to XMarks, and thanks for a great post. I'm pleased to hear the kilt was so well received at work.

Just a quick reply to the guy who wore his kilt to work for the first time. Congrats! I work for a school of fashion design, in administration, and wear a kilt whenever I can. Living and working in Boston, Ma. has it's drawbacks, because this city is pretty conservative most of the time. I do have to say that I've experienced very little negative comments, but, I have gotten some. No problem! I don't care what people say or think. As long as I'm comfortable with it, that's all that matters! A lot of friends have started wearing kilts as well, so I guess that's also a good thing. I find the kilt to be the most comfortable garment there is! Wear your kilt in good health, and free spirit!

Congrats Boss!
And, you probably wouldn't want the business of anyone who had an issue with the kilts anyway.
The best comeback line for folks that ask questions about why you're kilted that you sense are gonna make a negative remark is, "If I wanted to dress like a woman, I'd wear pants."
Sounds like you've a wonderful spirit and if your ladies feel comfortable enough to compliment, even flirt, with you you must be doing the right things.
Been kilted at work daily for a year and a half now. Gets comfy.

"I'll have a kilt please, a nice hand sewn tartan, 16 ounce Strome. Oh, and a sporran on the side, with a strap please."

Good to see a working kilted man.
I'm self employed and been wearing the kilt to work for three years full time.
I've incorporated the kilt and celtic things into my business and had little or no problems with clients.
Here is a piccie of my newly painted truck.

Thanks for all the good and kind words. To answer a few questions, we are a land planning, civil engineering, land surveying firm, and so far no one else in the firm has taken up kilt fever. However, my office manager (a woman) is on her husband (our head surveyor) almost daily about getting a kilt. Two others have talked about family connections to various clans and their kin folk who wear the tartan. So, who knows. Maybe some day more will come kilted. As for me, I plan on doing so more often.
As for the western NC guys, I've got some family in the Ashville/Clyde/Canton area who are all in Clan Lindsey. Maybe we can hoist one some time!

I'm thinking your job involves, at times working up a ladder?
