I live in Glasgow, Scotland. I agree with Robin on this one, though I can think of a few locals to reccomend this form to.
Nice to see the diversity here, though.

Yeah the big glowing orb has circled around the earth almost once. As expected (X-Marks is US based and over 300,000,000) the majority are Yanks. I was sort've hoping to see a few more on your side of the Atlantic. Then again this is far from a scientific poll.

Hopefully in time there will be a more equal distribution.
I'm all for as many Yanks as possible joining in. God knows I get enough hassle here in Scotland for weaing a kilt. (Sad as it is.)
The more the merrier.

Hassle in Scotland is indeed sad Arlen.
It reminds me of the Biblical phrase a prophet is without honour in his own country.

It is very sad. But, I'm hoping, this resurgance in Kilt fashion and in strongar cultural feelings will hopefully help.
I definately agree with your quote.

I had no problems wearing kilts in Scotland, but that's perhaps because I'm 46...people tend to think someone of my age has some wisdom (they're completly wrong of course )
In fact many people...of all ages...nodded their head, gave a smile or made compliments. An often heard remark: "very nice...more people should wear their kilt more often".
There's hope I guess

I haven't had any problem in Scotland either Robin but then we are visitors not residents and don't have to deal with our contempories and social group peers that Arlen has to deal with.
We may of course experience occasional hassles where we ourselves live from time to time (which is fortunately pretty rare) but we are not in the land where it basically all started so to speak and where the history and culture should be conducive, rather than the opposite.
All lot of young guys of Arlen's age follow other trends in a way that they can become an expected uniform and especially so in larger cities like Glasgow.
The only hassle I get is all the tourists who want a photo of themselves with a guy in a kilt.

*laughs* I wish I had your luck.
I tend to just gget 'Ha, look at him wearing a kilt. Gay!!'
It is nice when you get the few people who are just appreciative or supportive.

Those who make "funny" remarks are probably:
-jealous
-narrow minded
-lack personality
-uneducated
-fashion slaves
-uncertain
-all of the above
