Ya well all else aside I have oh so not fond memories of doing a house raid while a platoon of Cav stood by and watched in amazment. Now thats no big deal until you realize at the time I was on a Lite birds PSD and he was tired of waiting in the street for the lazy cav to do their job. Oh and including the LTC and the S3 Maj there were a total of 11 of us on the ground and almost 30 cav. Go figure. But seriously I am just glad to see that there is so much green floating around these boards.

I've already spoken to US CAV and they don't have the 9th for some reason (actually since the 9th is split up and attached all over it is not that surprising). Brigade Quartermaster also doesn't sell crests.

So anyone with access to a base PX, that would be willing to look for me would be greatly appreciated. If possible I'd also like an officers Cavalry branch pin (brass not subdued) to put on my nightstalker sporran.

If anyone can help, please let me know.

    Thanks

Adam, let me know if your other sources run dry - I'm certain I have a 9th Cav crest and officers' crossed sabers in my "box o' uniform parts" somewhere.

I ordered a set, but thanks. On the other hand, does this mean you were with the 9th at some point?

I was with the 4th, 10th, and 12th, but worked with the 2d, 9th, and 11th (and collected them all for a clock where the crests showed the hours). It's really cool (and I had to guard it against theft, as you might imagine).

Got the crests. Wow they are smaller than I remember (did they start making them smaller?). SO I don't think it works as a kilt pin. However the crossed sabers were exactly what my nightstalker sporran needed.

BTW BonnieT100, if you ever run into Ltc. Mike Richardson, tell Sarge that Dutch says hi.
