Sitting on the porch swing with my wife.
The flight of an arrow out of a nice recurve bow.
Slipping into the woods on a frosty morning in 18th century dress (see avatar) hoping for a successful hunt but enjoying the time regardless.
The swish of pleats.
Using my knives in the kitchen to fix a great meal.
Any time away from the sounds of modern life.

1. When I walk into our daycare to get Nicholas and he lets out this ear piercing squeal and runs to me and gives me a whole body slam/hug.
2. Watching Nicholas learn to do something on his own. (he's 2)
3. Downshifting, going into a corner on the track at a speed I think is way, way too fast, leaning the bike over, feeling the toe of my boot scrape the track, then my knee puck do the same, seeing the edge of the track just a foot or two from my elbow, rolling on the throttle as I reach the apex, feeling the front end lighten up and shooting past the bike in front of me like he's sitting still.
4. Playing rugby on a Saturday afternoon and making a clean, painless tackle on someone twice my size.
5. The feeling I get when someone gives me an approving look as I walk by whilst kilted, be it man or woman.
Good spirits (homebrew/wine), a clean workbench, an organized toolbox, an empty road at sunset.......I could go on forever. There are lots of things we take for granted that we shouldnt.

Good point, but to expand on it... life itself is special, at any age. Life might be the longest thing you'll ever do, but take it from one who knows, it's still too short. Enjoy the good things while they last, folks.
This thread has been really thought provoking...
